Here are my holy trinity of foods that are underrated and should be staples in your diets. They are like the red headed step child of mother nature and its time to correct this. Lentils Lentils are one of my favourite carbohydrate sources. Its extremely high in fibre, has a lot of protein, cheap, its low glycemic, and unlike beans won’t cause you to fart. There really are too many benefits to name about lentils and should be a staple in your diet. Serving Size: ½ Cup cooked per day Kiwi Kiwi’s, the neglected ugly ass looking fruit from the land down under. These guys don’t get the respect they deserve. They are in my top 3 favourite fruits as they have more vitamin C then an orange, more potassium than a banana and more fibre than an apple. Its exotic, tasty and freaking awesome for you. Serving Size: 1 a day Lamb This is the most underrated red meat and protein source out there. Its not popular here in North America and that’s a shame, because its far healthier than beef or pork. The big reason is because it’s a single stomach animal, so you can’t pump lambs full of antibiotics and hormones as it’ll just get sick and die.
